FRB builds community in the U.S. by uniting people and resources from faith-based, civic, farming, urban, and business communities in a new and visible way to enhance sustainable food security in the world’s poorest communities.
FRB is not an emergency or disaster organization, nor is it interested in shipping domestic food and grain commodities abroad. FRB’s niche is helping people help themselves, and supports the creation of sustainable smallholder food production systems involving training and locally-acquired or constructed seed, tools, water wells and reservoirs, drip irrigation, animals: whatever can be done to help hungry villagers produce their own food.
Our aim is to be flexible and responsible. Our aim is to help hungry people to know the dignity and pride of feeding themselves and their families and to produce excess food to share, barter or sell in order to purchase basic medicines and staples and send all their children to school.
